DAVIES

Davies {Anna Macpherson Cummings}, égyptologue anglaise {1881-1950}.

Épouse Norman de G. Davies, en 1907, et travaille avec lui dans les tombes thébaines de 1908 à 1939. Elle réalise des copies, en couleurs, des trois premiers volumes de The theban tombs series et des copies des hypogées d'Amarna et de Beni Hassan.

Davies {Norman de Garis}, égyptologue anglais {1865 1941}.

Pasteur de formation universitaire, qui se consacra tardivement à l'égyptologie. Il se rend en Égypte {1898} où il seconde Petrie à Dendérah. L'essentiel de son travail a consisté en la copie des peintures et des inscriptions d'un grand nombre de tombes, qu'il réalisa avec son épouse A. M. Cummings. La fidélité de ses copies et ses observations perspicaces sont d'une grande valeur.
